We came to Africa more than 35 years ago, and it has never let us go.
Karin Bloem and Albert Schepers

Karin Bloem and Albert Schepers have shared a life shaped by Africa for more than thirty-five years. Their first visit to Kenya was their honeymoon, and they fell in love with the country at first sight. A year later, they embarked on a year-long journey around the world, driving overland from the Netherlands to Zimbabwe in an old Land Rover before continuing through Asia and South America.
Afterwards, they chose to make Kenya their home, settling there in the mid-1990s with their three children. Albert built a career as a consultant, while Karin founded Wild Times Safaris, creating tailor-made journeys across the continent. Alongside her work in travel, she developed a passion for designing and developing elegant, light-filled homes that embrace their natural surroundings. Together, they have spent countless days on safari, exploring Africa's extraordinary landscapes, wildlife and cultures, experiences that continue to inspire the way they live and host at Arimuni.
Arimuni was designed and built as their private family home in Karen, bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary and overlooking the Ngong Hills. Shaped by nature, thoughtful design and indoor-outdoor living, it remains a family home, thoughtfully shared with guests who appreciate its unique setting and atmosphere. More than a place to stay, Arimuni has become a sanctuary in its own right, offering a rare sense of peace, privacy and connection with nature.
An ideal base for exploring Nairobi's key highlights, Arimuni is equally rewarding as a destination in its own right, offering space to unwind, reconnect with nature and experience a different side of the city, where the feeling of being on safari is never far away.
Arimuni is our family home, and whether you stay for a few nights or a longer escape, we hope it feels like home to you too. When we are away, our dedicated Kenyan team welcomes every guest with the same warmth, care, and genuine hospitality.
